GB's Brookes finishes third at Austrian Big Air event

Great Britain's Mia Brookes claimed third place at the Big Air snowboarding World Cup event in Austria.

Brookes scored 72 on her second run and 76 on her third for an overall total of 148, with Austria's Anna Gasser finishing first on 167.75 and Japan's Reira Iwabuchi second with 157.75.

Brookes, 17, won last month's event in Beijing and followed that up with another victory in Klagenfurt, Austria.

She is joint top of the Big Air women's standings on 305 points, along with Japan's Mari Fukada, after four of five rounds.

The next World Cup event in the category takes place on 6 February in Aspen in the United States.
