Defending champion Francesco Bagnaia took the lead in the title race by winning the German MotoGP at the Sachsenring.
The defending champion, riding for Ducati Lenovo, moves ahead of Jorge Martin, who crashed with two laps remaining while leading the race.
The Marquez brothers became the first in 27 years to finish on the podium together as Marc came second and Alex third.
Spain's Martin, riding Ducati's satellite Pramac bike, broke the lap record to claim pole before winning Saturday's sprint race to open up a 15-point lead in the standings.
But Bagnaia's fourth consecutive grand prix victory on Sunday gave him a 10-point advantage.
"It wasn't easy," he said. "I saw Jorge was starting to make some mistakes, then when he had his crash I just slowed down a lot. (I'm) very happy. It's the first time I win here in Sachensring."
The championship resumes with the British GP at Silverstone on 4 August.
