Toby Roberts will be the second athlete to represent Great Britain in Olympic sport climbing after Shauna CoxseyTeenager Toby Roberts became the first British male climber to earn an Olympic quota place by winning the European qualification event in Laval, France.
The 18-year-old accumulated 180.8 points across the boulder and lead phases of the competition to finish ahead of Czech star Adam Ondra (128.7).
The achievement comes in Roberts' first senior season, in which he has also won World Cup gold in lead and boulder.
Shauna Coxsey became the first British Olympic climber at the Tokyo Games.
Coxsey placed 10th in the women's competition when the sport made its Olympic debut in 2021.
France's Oriane Bertone won the women's European qualifier ahead of Serbia's Stasa Gejo.
