British skateboarder Sky Brown will miss this weekend's Olympic Qualifier Series event in Shanghai with a knee injury but still hopes to be fit for the Paris Olympics this summer.
The 15-year-old suffered a medial collateral ligament (MCL) tear in April.
Brown won bronze in the skateboard park event at Tokyo 2020, becoming Great Britain's youngest Olympic medal winner of all time aged 13.
"Every injury I've had, I've come back stronger," Brown told NBC.
"So this is just my time to really think about what I want to do next. It really puts a fire in my heart - it happens, it is part of life."
Brown is ranked third in the world and could return to action for the second round of the Olympic Qualifier Series, beginning on 20 June in Budapest.
MCL tears can take more than six weeks to recover from.
The Paris Games begin on Friday, 26 July and to qualify skateboarders must be ranked inside the world's top 20 by 23 June.
