Children among injured in reported stabbing in Dublin

Five people, including three children, have been taken to hospital after a serious incident in Dublin, Irish police say.

The incident happened shortly after 13:40 local time on Thursday on Parnell Square East, in the north of the city.

Irish broadcaster RTÉ have reported the injuries have come in a suspected stabbing incident.

The casualties are a man, a woman and three young children.

One of the children, a girl, and the woman are being treated in hospital for serious injuries.

The rest of the casualties are being treated for less serious injuries.

The area has been sealed off and declared a crime scene.

An Garda Síochána (Irish police) said it is following a definite line of inquiry and are not looking for any other person at this time.
