  1. 'We took our time to get this appointment right'

More from Rangers CEO James Bisgrove: "We recognise that continuity and stability are key to this football club. This is our 19th permanent manager in 151 years.

"We went through a process that was multi-layered, a lot of due-diligence and we took our time with the board to get this appointment right.

"We had a very clear vision with the characteristics we wanted the next Rangers manager to have and the board were unanimous that Phillipe was the outstanding candidate.

"Rangers is about winning, there is a lot of football still to be played this season and I know Phillipe and his team will be giving it everything they've got for this to be a successful season.

  2. Clement's short and long-term goals

"My short and long-term objectives are always to win. I'm about that, that's my life. It's always been my life so that's what I want, but I know there is also a process to get to that point.

"We need to work on that, there are a lot of things we can do better. It'll be a process that we will work on week by week to make things better.

"To be focussed on ourselves is a really important point. When watching back our games this season, I saw moments of frustration, but the players started to do their own things.

"Their expectations and the fans expectations were really high, but we know we need to create a really stable study together that everything is really clear for them so we can play really food football with good results."

  3. Post update

James Bisgrove says Rangers are having conversations about bringing a director of football or a technical director to the club.

  4. 'Ibrox an iconic stadium'

Phillipe Clement's first words to the media:

I'm really delighted to be here. It's been hectic, but that's normal when stepping in at this stage of the season. It's an iconic stadium, a club with a lot of fans.
