Fabian Edwards' Bellator middleweight title fight against Johnny Eblen has been postponed.

Birmingham's Edwards was due to face champion Eblen on 14 September at London's OVO Arena in a rematch of their September bout.

No explanation was given for the cancellation, but organisers said a new fight date would be announced "in the coming days".

Northern Irish fighter Leah McCourt will now headline the Wembley event, facing Australian Sara Collins in a featherweight contest.

Edwards was aiming to become the first English Bellator champion since Liam McGeary achieved the feat in 2015.

The 31-year-old, who is the younger brother of UFC star Leon Edwards, lost a close battle with Eblen in Dublin at Bellator 299.

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) since acquired Bellator, but not before Edwards could sign a multi-fight deal with Bellator.

The London event is the latest instalment of the PFL's 'Bellator Champion Series' which they launched in the wake of the merger, but will now be without a Bellator championship fight.

Light-heavyweights Simon Powell and Luke Trainer also feature on the undercard.
