Exeter Chiefs booked their spot in the Premiership Women's Rugby semi-finals after defeating Trailfinders 40-10 at Trailfinders Sports Club on Saturday.

Susie Appleby's team only needed a point to qualify but came away with five as hooker Cliodhna Moloney scored twice in the bonus-point victory.

Defending champions Gloucester-Hartpury and Saracens have already qualified for the semis.

The final spot will go to either Bristol Bears or Loughborough Lightning.

If Bristol, who have a bye week in this round of fixtures, earn two points from their remaining three games they will secure a semi-final.

Loughborough, who play Gloucester on Sunday, need bonus-point wins in all of their last four games and for Bristol to not pick up a point.

Loughborough can also win three games with bonus points and win one without and then the spot would be decided on point difference if Bristol do not add to their point tally.

The league returned on Saturday from the break it took while the Women's Six Nations was being contested.

International players were also welcomed back to their clubs for the fixtures with the likes of England and Saracens wing Jess Breach returning.

Breach scored twice in Saracens' 54-21 win over Sale Sharks at the Stone X Stadium.

Elsewhere, Harlequins beat Leicester Tigers 47-12 at the Stoop.

The Quins performance included a try by prop Shaunagh Brown on her 100th appearance for the club.
