Gabby Petito: FBI searches fiancé Brian Laundrie's home

The FBI has begun searching the Florida home of Brian Laundrie, fiancé to Gabby Petito, the 22-year-old missing New York woman now believed to be dead.

Agents surrounded the property with a search warrant on Monday. Mr Laundrie's parents were removed from the home but have since been allowed back inside.

Earlier this month, Mr Laundrie returned home alone, a month into his cross-country road trip with Ms Petito.

On Sunday, remains matching Ms Petito's description were found in Wyoming.

Police consider Mr Laundrie a "person of interest" in the case but have not charged him with any crime.

Representatives reported Mr Laundrie missing last Tuesday. Since his return home, he had not spoken to authorities or to the Petito family.
