Pierre Gasly has signed a multi-year contract extension with Alpine.

The Frenchman, 28, is in his second season with the team and will "stay for 2025 and beyond", said Alpine, who have not revealed the length of the deal.

"I feel very much at home at this great team," Gasly said.

"I enjoy being a real part of both the Formula 1 project and the wider Alpine Cars vision.

"I’ve been officially here for over 18 months and it has always been the plan to build a long-term project with the team."

This month Alpine announced that Esteban Ocon will leave at the end of the season.

Last season Gasly finished third in the Dutch Grand Prix - one of only four podiums for Alpine since rebranding from Renault in 2021 - and third in the Belgian GP sprint.

However, he is 15th in the drivers' championship this season with only five points after 11 races.

"While on track it’s been a challenging season so far, I remain faithful to the project and I am not going anywhere," Gasly said.

"I am happy with the changes made, the hard work, and the direction the team is taking."

Alpine team principal Bruno Famin said: "He is a driver with huge experience in Formula 1 and continues to show huge amounts of potential on-track."

Alpine are seventh in the constructors' championship.

The Austrian GP gets under way on Friday.
