Great Britain won one of their five matches in Division I Group B at the Women's World ChampionshipGreat Britain ended their Women's World Ice Hockey Championship campaign with a 4-3 shootout defeat by Slovenia but have avoided relegation.
Great Britain went into Sunday's fifth and final game knowing they were safe.
The opening victory over Kazakhstan and results elsewhere meant Britain had already retained their Division I status for next season following Saturday's loss to hosts South Korea.
They ran Slovenia close in Suwon but Slovenia edged it in the shootout.
Great Britain had led 3-2 with goals from Lucy Beal, Katie Marsden and Aimee Headland.
But Slovenia equalised late in the final period as Katie Henry served a two-minute penalty for an illegal hit.
That sent the game to overtime but with no further goals, the match was decided by a shootout and Slovenia's Sara Confidenti settled it to give her side the extra point.
