Dramatic footage shows water bursting into live power lines after a driver collided with a fire hydrant in downtown Los Angeles, California.
The fire department would normally turn off the water right away, but because of the danger of electrocution, authorities had to wait over an hour for the power to be shut off before proceeding.
The driver and a passenger fled the scene after the collision and police say the incident is being treated as a hit and run.
