McGinn has won 72 caps for Northern Ireland, scoring six goalsGlentoran have signed Northern Ireland international Niall McGinn on an 18-month deal from Dundee.
McGinn was made available for transfer by the Scottish Championship side after falling out of favour under boss Gary Bowyer.
The 35-year-old, who has 72 caps for Northern Ireland and won a Scottish Cup with Celtic, attended the Glens' Boxing Day defeat by Linfield at the Oval.
McGinn joins a Glentoran side who are sixth in the Irish Premiership table.
The east Belfast side reached the Irish Cup sixth round on Saturday, but have lost their last four Irish Premiership games, leaving them 10 points off the pace with two games in hand.
It is understood McGinn, who had entered the last six months of his contract at Dundee, is interested in pursuing coaching when he retires.
McGinn started his career in the Irish League with Dungannon Swifts before taking in spells at Derry City and Celtic.
He was on loan at Brentford and had two stints at Aberdeen either side of playing in South Korea with Gwangju, helping the Dons win the Scottish League Cup in 2014.
Glentoran are also frontrunners to sign former Cork City and Cliftonville winger Daire O'Connor, 25, from Scottish Championship side Ayr United.
