Government unworthy of voters' trust, says Keir Starmer

Sir Keir Starmer says the government has shown itself "unworthy" of voters' trust, in a speech setting out his priorities for the year ahead.

Speaking in Birmingham, the Labour leader promised to deliver "straight leadership", in a bid to capitalise on Boris Johnson's recent troubles.

In a "contract with the British people", he said he would offer "security, prosperity and respect" if Labour wins power at the next election.
