Luke Humphries secured his first major trophy to deny Gerwyn Price a second World Grand Prix title.
Humphries sealed a 5-2 victory with a 138 checkout at the Morningside Arena in Leicester following an equally impressive 170 checkout in the fifth set.
The 28-year-old won the 2019 PDC World Youth Championship but victory over Price was his first major title.
Price was aiming for his second World Grand Prix, winning previously in 2020.
The Welshman had beaten world number one and reigning world champion Michael Smith 4-2 in a high-quality semi-final on Saturday.
Humphries eased past fellow Englishman Joe Cullen 4-0 in the second semi-final.
