Japan's Ayaka Furue leads the Evian Championship by three shots after the second round was suspended because of dangerous weather conditions.
World number 21 Furue followed up a bogey-free opening round in the fourth women's major this season by making six birdies to climb to 12 under with five holes still to play on Friday.
Scotland's Gemma Dryburgh, who shared the overnight lead after an opening 64, is six shots back after recovering from three early bogeys to birdie the eighth and ninth before play was called off.
Level with Dryburgh is England's Georgia Hall, the 2018 Women's Open champion, who overcame a shoulder injury to produce a brilliant finish to her second round.
One over par after 10 holes, Hall carded birdies on the 11th, 15th and 16th and an eagle on the 18th to complete a score of 67.
Players were evacuated from the course in the afternoon due to storms in the area and the second round was called off for the day nearly two hours later, with 66 players yet to complete 36 holes.
The second round will resume on Saturday at 07:30 local time (06:30 BST), with the third round set to get under way just over three hours later.
Speaking about her injury, Hall said: "I was actually worse than yesterday, especially on the front nine. Just trying to make contact with the ball.
"So I'm just thrilled with the way I'm playing at the moment. I'll see the physio and try to make it better. I've got 24 hours before I tee off again, so that should be enough hopefully."
