Alison Lee set a 36-hole scoring record on the Ladies European Tour by carding a second successive 61 at the Aramco Team Series in Saudi Arabia.
The 28-year-old American moved to 22 under par after two days with another superb round at the Riyadh Golf Club.
Lee equalled the lowest round in LET history with her opening 61 on Friday, which featured a record-equalling eight successive birdies.
She holds a six-shot lead over Spain's Carlota Ciganda before the final round.
"If you told me at the beginning of the week I was going to shoot 22 under after two days, I wouldn't have believed you, so I'm really happy with where I am right now," Lee said.
Lee's total of 122 shots after two rounds beat the previous lowest LET 36-hole total - which was shared by four players - by six.
Europe's Solheim Cup star Ciganda, 33, made 63 on Saturday and moved to 16 under overall - two shots ahead of Sweden's Pernilla Lundberg.
England's Charley Hull is joint fifth heading into Sunday's final round, 10 shots behind Lee, after the 27-year-old carded 67 on Saturday.
Wales' Chloe Williams is in a tie for seventh, one shot further back at 11 under, followed by English trio Bronte Law, Georgia Hall and Cara Gainer on 10 under.
