Leeds United have been fined £40,000 after Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe was pushed by a supporter during their Premier League game in May.

The fan got into the technical area from the home end at Elland Road before being dragged away.

The supporter received a lifetime ban for the incident, which happened in added time during the 2-2 draw.

The Football Association has suspended £20,000 of the fine until the end of next season.

An independent regulatory commission decided the size of the sanction, and Leeds have been warned about their future conduct.

Leeds admitted breaching FA Rule E21.1, which states a club must ensure spectators conduct themselves in an orderly fashion during matches and do not use words or behave in a way that is improper, offensive, violent, threatening, abusive, indecent, insulting or provocative.
