Adam Lewis and Mickey Demetriou celebrate Newport's equaliser

Newport County came from a goal down to earn a point at struggling Rochdale.

Devante Rodney put the hosts ahead just after the half hour mark, finding the bottom corner from 20-yards out after neat build-up play from the hosts.

Newport were level less than a minute into the second half, Adam Lewis' deep free-kick missed everyone in the box before going in at the far post.

Rochdale thought they had won it late on, but Ian Henderson's header was ruled out for offside to save Newport.

The draw comes a day after Newport manager Graham Coughlan was charged by the Football Association for improper behaviour against Crawley on Monday, 2 January.

Coughlan has until 10 January to provide a response.
