Crossbench peer Baroness Casey read out a list of women killed this year, during a debate to mark International Women’s Day.
It was the former government adviser's first speech in the House of Lords since formally joining in September 2021.
It echoed a tradition begun in the House of Commons by Labour MP Jess Phillips, who since 2015 has named women killed in the past year where the primary suspect or known killer was a man.
