Major rail disruption in South of England due to radio fault

Rail services across the South of England have been hit by major disruption due to a fault with radio communications, according to National Rail.

South Western Railway, CrossCountry, Southern Trains, Gatwick Express, the London Overground and Thameslink are all seeing cancellations and delays due to an issue affecting radio communications between trains and signallers.

Network Rail said disruption is expected to last until the end of the day and passengers are being warned that trains may be held in stations, delayed, or cancelled.

The problem was reported before 0900 on Thursday, National Rail said.
