Manchester United defender Hannah Blundell has announced she is pregnant with her first child.
The club have triggered an option clause in her contract to keep her there for another year so she can access maternity pay and medical support.
The 30-year-old, who joined from Chelsea in 2021, has been a regular starter under boss Marc Skinner.
Blundell told her team-mates the news in a club meeting on Tuesday before announcing it publicly on social media a day later.
Skinner was made aware of the pregnancy early on and has recruited defenders in the transfer window as a result.
