Thomas Frank says becoming the manager of a big club would "probably not make my life better" and he is "happy" at Brentford.

It comes amid reports he is a leading candidate, external to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United, who have won just three of their eight Premier League games this season.

United beat Frank's Brentford in their last outing on Saturday to relieve some of the pressure on Ten Hag, but the Bees boss says he is not thinking about leaving the club.

Speaking on the Sports Agents podcast, external, Frank said: "I am probably at one of the best clubs in the world. End of discussion.

"In terms of alignment, leadership, culture, everything. Why should I ever leave this place?

"Things can happen and you can want new inspiration, maybe you find another inspiration at your club and you stay.

"For sure, if I ever got the offer to go to a big club and I decided to go there, it would probably not make my life better. I think we all know that.

"Maybe it is a challenge you need to try. It is not something I am thinking about."

Frank, 51, initially joined Brentford as assistant head coach before replacing Dean Smith as manager in October 2018.

The Dane ended the club's 74-year exile from the Premier League via the Championship play-offs in 2021 and he is now the second-longest serving manager in the top-flight behind Manchester City's Pep Guardiola.

Frank added: "I have sacrificed a lot throughout my life to reach where I am now.

"I missed my children’s birthdays for five years in a row.

"I have been working 60, 70 hours a week for the last 30 years. You don't know how it would be if you walked into another job.

"Maybe it will be even better than it is here? I don't know that and I am just looking at the exposure on certain managers. I don't think that is part of the football they love.

"I am happy here. What will happen in the future will happen and we will take it from there."
