The US Department of Justice has found that police in the city where George Floyd died three years ago routinely resorted to "excessive force".

The agency said it had concluded that problems within the Minneapolis Police Department "made what happened to George Floyd possible".

Its two-year probe also found that officers discriminated against black and Native American people.

The investigation was launched a day after the trial of Floyd's killer.
