Partygate fines a ‘non-story’, says Jacob Rees-Mogg

Jacob Rees-Mogg has said that the issuing of new Partygate fines is a "non-story".

The Metropolitan Police has issued more than 50 new fines for breaches of Covid rules in Downing Street and other government buildings, bringing the total to more than 100.

Speaking to BBC Breakfast, the Brexit opportunities minister said that an inquiry should consider whether the rules were “right in the first place”.
