Belgium's Jasper Philipsen won stage 13 of the Tour de France after a dramatic crash as riders sprinted for the line in Pau.
Last year's green jersey winner took his second stage victory of the 2024 edition for the Alpecin-Deceuninck team, ahead of countryman Wout van Aert of Visma-Lease a Bike and Germany's Pascal Ackermann of Israel-Premier Tech.
Slovenia's Tadej Pogacar remains in the overall leader's yellow jersey for UAE-Team Emirates, one minute six seconds ahead of Belgium's Remco Evenepoel of Soudal-Quick Step.
Pogacar, in typically swashbuckling style, joined the sprint at the end of the stage, but his main rival and defending champion Jonas Vingegaard of Visma-Lease a Bike came home safely with the same time and remains just eight seconds behind Evenepoel in third.
After a flat 165.3km stage during which crosswinds caused problems in the peloton, Belgium's Maxim van Gils of Lotto-Dstny tried to force his way through as the sprint began and shoulder-barged past countryman Amaury Capiot of Arkea-B&B Hotels, knocking him to the tarmac and causing a pile-up which forced Lotto's lead rider and team-mate Arnaud de Lie to stop.
