Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has warned that Britain's multi-ethnic, multi-faith democracy is being "deliberately undermined" by "forces here at home trying to tear us apart".
The PM made the remarks in a statement he made outside 10 Downing Street on Friday evening.
"Let us prove these extremists wrong, and show that even when we disagree we will never be disunited from our common values of decency and respect."
"I love this country," he said, before asking people to "stand together" and "combat the forces of division".
