Previous government made 'unfunded' spending promises - Reeves

The chancellor has claimed the previous government made unfunded commitments "knowing the money was not there".

Setting out a series of cuts to spending, Rachel Reeves dismissed claims that public books were open for inspection.

She accused the opposition of putting party before the country.
