Teenage forward Felicia Schroeder has joined Real Madrid in a deal that makes her "the most expensive transfer ever in women's football", her former club says.
The Sweden international, 19, has signed a four-year deal at Real after scoring 91 goals in 128 games for Swedish club BK Hacken.
Last summer, Orlando Pride made Mexico winger Lizbeth Ovalle the most expensive signing in women's football history, with the 26-year-old moving from Tigres UANL in a deal worth $1.5m (£1.1m).
Schroeder's agent and Gothenburg-based Hacken have declined to say what the exact value of her move to Spain is.
However a Hacken spokesperson told Reuters: "It's based on this price tag being higher than the previous record sum of $1.5m, a record sum that was confirmed at the time by the Orlando Pride. However, what exactly this price tag is is not something we are making public."
Real finished last season second in Spain's Liga F, 15 points behind champions Barcelona.
The Spanish side said they were signing a player who was "the standout star of the tournament" at the recent Women's Europa Cup.
