Record wage growth adds to inflation pressure

UK wages rose at a record pace in the year to May adding to inflation pressure, the latest official figures show.

Regular pay excluding bonuses grew by 7.3%, the Office for National Statistics said, equalling the highest growth rate last month.

The pace of wage rises has come under increasing focus by the Bank of England as it attempts to get inflation under control.
