Snake and hunt hounds join pets at polling stations

Josie took her pooch Arthur to the polling station in Henley.

This dog was watching on as people arrived to cast their vote in a temporary building in Andover.

Animals including a snake and a group of hunt hounds have joined their owners at polling stations in the south.

Dogs could be seen tagging along with general election voters across Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

Assistance dogs are the only animals allowed in polling stations, but other dogs can be permitted at the discretion of the local authority.

Polling stations opened at 07:00 BST and will remain open until 22:00.
