Stoke City have hit out at "sickening and unacceptable" tragedy chants during Saturday's Championship game against Sheffield United.
It is understood the chants from "a small minority" of Stoke supporters were directed at Blades striker Tyrese Campbell, whose father, former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin, passed away in June.
The 24-year-old scored the second goal in United's 2-0 victory at Bramall Lane but is a former Stoke player, making 164 appearances for the Potters.
"The club has a zero-tolerance approach to tragedy chanting and strongly condemns the abhorrent actions of the individuals involved," said Stoke in a statement.
"Any evidence brought to the attention of the club that implicates individuals in such behaviour will be acted upon without hesitation and the police will also be informed."
The statement added: "The club will continue to work with fellow clubs, police forces and all relevant authorities to identify perpetrators of illegal actions and to ensure that matchdays are safe, welcoming and enjoyable for all."
Earlier this year, two Stoke City fans were banned from all grounds in England and Wales for three years for mocking the deaths of two Leeds United fans who were killed in Turkey in 2000 during last season's game at Elland Road.
