Claire Taggart was defeated 3-2 by South Korea's Soyeong Jeong in her BC2 women's individual boccia semi-final at the Paralympics on Sunday morning.
The Great Britain competitor from Larne now goes through to the bronze medal match against Gischa Zayana of Indonesia later on Sunday.
The 29-year-old, who first competed at Rio in 2016 and is now a three-time Paralympian, progressed to the semi-finals after beating Hiu Lam Yeung of Hong Kong 3-2 in her quarter-final on Saturday.
Taggart won two gold medals at the 2022 Boccia World Cup in Portugal and later the same year clinched gold at the Boccia World Championships in Rio.
Meanwhile, Team Ireland are guaranteed another medal on Sunday with Katie-George Dunlevy going in cycling's B 3000m individual pursuit final against Britain's Sophie Unwin.
