Did you get an invitation to the wedding of the year? If you didn’t, then you may be wondering what exactly happened in New York’s Madison Square Garden when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce celebrated their marriage on Friday 3 July.
The thing is, not many people know and nobody is really sharing many details.
That could be a reason why your socials are full of AI images of the couple looking incredibly happy in their designer wedding outfits - or, in one case, Travis in his football gear.
BBC Bitesize Other Side of the Story has taken a look at some of the images people have posted - and why they can appear when there is no other news available.

This AI post shared on the Instagram account kyvora.ai shows Travis Kelce in full football kit with Taylor Swift in her bridal gown
What photos are being posted of Taylor and Travis?
TikTok and Instagram have different images of what Taylor and Travis may have looked like on their big day. Some look more realistic than others - if you’re not sure, see our guide on how to check if images are AI or not - but until official photos from the day are released, we have no idea what either of them wore or how the inside of Madison Square Garden was decorated.

Instagram accounts @thecaughtup and @yourcountdownto openly admitted they had shared these AI posts of the wedding ceremony as no official pictures were available
These pictures fill something that is known as an information vacuum. When there is no official information available over a certain event, rumours, speculation and gossip can be created while people are waiting to hear more. Information about Taylor Swift’s wedding is not as serious a vacuum as a major political or news event, but the singer is so famous that her wedding was always going to be a big story with a lot of media attention. It can be said that these pictures take advantage of the lack of information by inventing their own version of events until something more official is made available to the public by Taylor and Travis. If and when the couple issue any photographs or statements from their ceremony and celebrations, we’ll know for sure how many of these AI images reflected reality and how many were a “hoax."

What do we know about Taylor and Travis’s wedding?
There is very little official information available about the event as the organisation was so secretive. Some famous guests have made comments about the ceremony, as reported by BBC News.
The actress Jessica Alba shared a photo of the outfit she wore to the wedding on her Instagram account. Joseph Kahn, who directed some of Taylor’s music videos, also posted on Instagram, saying how much he enjoyed the day. He said: “What I will say about the wedding was it was so much funnier and emotional than expected, and as big as it was, it also felt very intimate.”
Donna Kelce, Travis’s mum, said as part of a department store social media post: “I really can't say a heck of a lot but it was magical, man, magical.”
An article by the respected news agency Reuters said that guests suggested Travis wore a white tuxedo and the wedding took place in a specially built garden inside the venue. However, even though reports from Reuters and BBC News can be seen as reputable sources, they both point out that no information about the wedding has been confirmed and that any suggestions about how it looked came from guests and not official sources.
It’s important to always check where your information is coming from and make sure they are trusted and verified sources. An AI image of the wedding ceremony is fake news, and sharing it could make misinformation go viral.
It’s entirely up to Taylor and Travis if they want to make details of their special day public. Until they do, any rumour and gossip about what happened in Madison Square Garden during their wedding is just that - and not the facts.
