Conservative and SNP MPs showed their anger with Lindsay Hoyle's ruling over a debate calling for a Middle East ceasefire.
In an unusual move, the Speaker allowed a Labour amendment to an SNP Opposition Day motion, which led to noisy scenes in the Commons.
Mr Hoyle warned MPs over clapping in the chamber and a Tory backbencher shouted “bring back Bercow”, a reference to the former Speaker John Bercow.
