Tesco has lost its legal case against rival Lidl over the design of its Clubcard Prices logo, following a ruling by the Court of Appeal.

The retailing giant has been ordered to stop using the distinctive yellow circle on a blue square to promote its discount scheme.

Lidl argued Tesco had infringed its copyright, and taken "unfair advantage" of its "reputation for great value".

Lidl said it was "delighted", while Tesco said it was "disappointed".
