Theresa May tribute to the late Speaker Betty Boothroyd

The former PM has paid tribute to the first woman Speaker of the Commons, who has died aged 93.

Theresa May spoke of Betty Boothroyd’s "humanity", her humour, gentle put-downs and rebukes in the chamber.

Mrs May said it was a privilege to have known the former Tiller Girl and an honour to have served under her in the Commons.
