Unions representing senior doctors in England have agreed a pay deal with the government.

Consultant members of the British Medical Association narrowly rejected a previous offer.

It is understood a little more money was offered and the BMA will recommend it to members. The other smaller union involved is the Hospital Consultants and Specialists Association.

Consultants have staged four strikes in their pay dispute so far.
