Wales have Six Nations number eight injury concerns with Aaron Wainwright waiting on results of scans for a suspected broken cheekbone suffered in the 43-0 hammering by France.

Wainwright, 27, was forced off in the fourth minute in Paris on Friday night and was replaced by Tommy Reffell who slotted in the back row alongside captain Jac Morgan and James Botham.

Cardiff back row Taulupe Faletau also missed the game with a knee injury. Wainwright and Faletau are the two specialist number eights in the squad.

Locks Christ Tshiunza and Freddie Thomas are back-row options within the 35-man squad, while head coach Warren Gatland could call in the likes of Josh Macleod, Taine Plumtree, Morgan Morse or Taine Basham from outside the squad.

Ospreys centre Owen Watkin is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury in Paris.

Wales have travelled to Nice today and will train in the south of France before heading to Rome to face Italy next Saturday.
