Highlights: Crusaders and Glentoran share Seaview spoils

Crusaders manager Stephen Baxter says he was proud of his 10-man team's second-half display in the 1-1 draw with Glentoran.

The Seaview hosts missed a penalty and dominated the match after Josh Robinson was dismissed early in the second half.

"Our second-half performance was stunning - we played Glentoran off the park with 10 men," said Baxter.

"It's a feeling of pride at how well we played. We're disappointed we couldn't get all three points."

Ben Kennedy saw his weak penalty saved by Glens keeper Aaron McCarey as the Crues pressed for a winner in north Belfast.

He added: "We had all the better chances in the game - in the second half we missed a penalty, which we ought to have scored.

"Our 10-man performance was stunning. We came at Glentoran, we didn't step off it one bit, we matched them all over the park. We were resolute in our defending and we got one or two chances."

The score was 1-1 when Robinson, who had already been booked, was shown a straight red card by referee Christopher Morrison for hauling down Jay Donnelly from behind as the striker went through on goal.

However, Baxter believes Glentoran should also have been reduced to 10 men just seconds before Robinson's dismissal.

"I fail to see how Aidan Wilson stays on the pitch - his tackle in front of me was over the top," he added.

"It was a reckless, red card tackle, it was a red card. Everyone on our bench knew it but the referee proceeds not to do it and then 10 seconds later gives a card against us and reduces us to 10 men with 42 minutes to go.

"That's the difficulty for us - we are disappointed in the manner of how that worked."

Glentoran midfielder Bobby Burns sustained a serious injury in the second half as the visitors struggled to capitalise on the man advantage.

It was in contrast to an impressive first-half display and Glens boss Warren Feeney was left disappointed at the final whistle.

"In the first half we were absolutely outstanding - we could have had four or five [goals]," said Feeney.

"In the second half we started really well but [Crusaders] going down to 10 men changed the game for us because we started being individuals.

"We didn't play with the high energy we did in the first half, we didn't get the ball down enough to play. Your coming from Seaview being disappointed with a point - we've just got to take it on the chin and move on to the next game."
