Double world champion Daniel Wiffen will swim in the open water 10km along with the 1500m and 800m freestyle at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Wiffen, who is one of 12 Olympic swimmers confirmed for Ireland, claimed a gold medal in the 800m and 1500m freestyle in Doha in February and will compete in the two pool events in Paris.

The 22-year-old will also look to make history as Ireland’s first Olympian in the open water 10km swimming marathon in the second week of the Games in the River Seine.

Larne swimmer Danielle Hill will compete in the women's 100m backstroke and 50m freestyle.

Mona McSharry will race in the women's 100m and 200m freestyle while Ellen Walshe is named for the women's 100m butterfly, 200m individual medley and 400m individual medley.

Belfast's Victoria Catterson and 16-year-old Bangor swimmer Grace Davison have been named in the 4x100m medley relay team, alongside Erin Riordan and Hill.

One of medley swimmers will join Hill, McSharry and Walsh in the 4x100m freestyle relay.

Conor Ferguson, from Belfast, will swim in the men's relay alongside Shane Ryan, Darragh Greene and Max McCusker.

Ryan will make history as the first Irish male swimmer to compete in three Olympics.

Tom Fannon will race in the men's 50m freestyle.

Ireland's diving team is made up of Jake Passmore in the men's 3m springboard and Ciara McGing, who will compete in the women's 10m platform.
